If you sell or service nautical anodes, you already know the painful category.
A custom propeller anode set for a superyacht can be rare, expensive, and urgent.
When a yacht is in dry dock, you often have a tight window to source the exact set.
Miss it, and the delay costs more than the set.
I am Gvapo, founder of Nautical Armor.
This is one of the jobs I still handle personally because speed and accuracy matter more than “sales process”.
A real case from Spain (how it usually starts)
A distributor in Spain contacted us during a dry dock job.
The captain needed an exact replacement propeller anode set.
The distributor sent photos and measurements of the used parts.
We made a drawing and an offer, they approved, and the order was confirmed in writing.
Then the samples arrived.
We reverse-engineered the set and produced a new matching set.
The last photo in this article is the new set installed on the yacht.
This is the outcome we care about.
Proof: in the last 12 months we delivered 68 custom propeller anode sets.
Why this is hard to keep in stock
Many propeller anode sets look similar at first glance.
They are often different enough to not fit.
They are also expensive, so only larger marine equipment distributors stock them.
Most buyers do not want dead cash sitting in slow-moving custom parts.
That is why “just order it when needed” becomes the default.
That default is what creates delays.
Two ways we supply a Nautical Armor custom propeller anode set
Option 1: Urgent reverse-engineer (dry dock case)
- You send photos + measurements of the old set.
- We create a drawing and cost estimate.
- You approve, order is confirmed in writing, clock starts.
- If needed, you send us the old set as a sample.
- We reverse-engineer, produce, and ship.
Lead time: 3–4 weeks from written order confirmation.
Option 2: Planned repeat set (next docking)
- About one month before the next dry dock, you tell us where it will happen.
- We pull the documentation from the first job.
- We produce and ship so the set is waiting on arrival.
This is how large distributors protect their reputation.
They look like heroes to the captain and the yard.
Where this demand shows up most
We see the most demand in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Germany.
We also see demand in Croatia, the UK, and Greece, but less often.
What these sets are made from
These are zinc sacrificial anodes made to the MIL zinc alloy standards we use for our nautical anodes.
We hold ±3% weight tolerance and provide full COA for your audit trail.
Shipping and customs
We ship with full export documents so customs can clear fast.
Terms stay consistent: EXW, and door delivery at cost when needed.
How this fits with our two programs
We keep the buying decision simple.
- 21-Day Promise: for core SKUs in EU + Norway.
Custom propeller sets can ship together with those orders, but they are not part of the 38 core SKUs. - Collaborative Forecasting: for medium and large accounts that want predictable supply.
Many large distributors add small quantities of custom sets into planned shipments.
Custom propeller anode sets can also ship standalone.
You choose what fits the job.
Procurement notes (for your buyer and your warehouse)
- MOQ: 1 custom propeller anode set
- Incoterms: EXW, door at cost
- Payment (distributors): 30 days
- Documents: export docs for customs clearance, COA on request
If you want to price or match a set, comment: SEND IT.
Add one line: Custom propeller anode set.
